Summer 2013

Well, 4th of July is nearly upon us, man that happened fast!  We are really looking forward to heading up to Torch Lake with the kids on the 4th to spend with the Cramers and Holtz's.  Should be a great, and hopefully relaxing, time up there!  Will be interesting to see what Cam and Jonathan think of the lake and fireworks and everything!

Some other stuff that has happened this spring/summer:

- Cam played his first official season of Tee Ball, and did great!  It was a little tough for him to keep focused throughout the game at first, but he really came along and did great.  Oh, and he was super pumped to get his medal!

- Jonathan is officially now "everywhere".  Definitely well into the crawling stage, if we take our eyes off him for a moment he is in another room!  He is definitely a curious guy...just wish he was more content with exploring things around where we are instead of always having to get to another location!

- Cameron has moved up to Pre-Kidnergarten at his Day Care and is doing great!  Still over a year away from starting official school, but he will definitely be ready when he does.  And I think I will be more ready than anyone, if only to get rid of that day care bill!

And some things we are looking forward to:

- Obviously the 4th of July and trip up to Torch Lake, should be a blast!

- Golf Outing for Julie's Mom on July 20 - this is now the 4th official year of the golf outing I believe, and it is a great event.  Big props to Dean for keeping the tradition going, and really hoping we can bring home the Win this year!

- Great Wolf Lodge towards the end of August - continuing our annual tradition, we will be going the weekend before football season starts as always.  Cam always has a great time, but this year will be extra interesting as it will be Jonathan's first year there.  Will definitely be interesting to see how he takes to it, and if he enjoys being in the water!  We are actually expanding our stay to 2 nights this year, so we will probably also figure out something separate to do in the Traverse City area during our stay!

- Football season!  Obviously super excited for this, as always.  An in-depth post is probably premature and not necessary here, but suffice it to say I think big things could be in store for Michigan this year!  Really excited to see Gardner lead this team, I think his potential is through the roof.  Definitely excited for the rest of summer, but I am ready for football season too!

So, that's about it for now!  Julie can add some pictures later, it is unbelievable how fast the guys are growing!

Rise to the Occasion

WOW! Hard to believe it is already spring. Time is flying…

So here we are - April 2013 – it’s been a while since our last post… and this time I really promise we are going to be updating more often.

Lots of fun things going on at the Crowder household. Cameron is 4 years old & the coolest kid we’ve ever met, Jonathan celebrated his ½ birthday yesterday so is cruising his way past 6 months old. Oh & the University of Michigan basketball team is gearing up for a NCAA Final Four appearance this weekend!

Cameron:

Turned 4 years old in February & celebrated with a Pirate Party at East Hills Athletic Club. He & his buddies from school had a treasure hunt, played a few games & had a terrific time!!

He is getting ready to transition to the “Junior Kindergarten” class at the Goddard School. He’ll transition this month & start in May. Can’t believe this kid is getting ready for junior kindergarten – he is doing great at learning his letters & even has interest in math and science. His vocabulary is increasing everyday & he keeps us laughing with all the questions & his amazing memory. You can’t get anything past this kid – he is a smart cookie.

He’s also one SUPER big brother! He has adjusted really well to this big change of having a little brother – we are so proud of how well he transitioned from being the “king” of the castle to having this new little person dictating much of our time. Cameron is doing great sharing & teaching Jonathan new things.

Jonathan:

Is such a good baby! Can’t stress enough how lucky I feel to have such a sweet & fun little boy. Not the best sleeper but that’s to be expected. We’re working on his sleeping now but it leaves this Momma pretty tired. Big props to Chris for letting me nap on Saturday mornings!! I do know this is about to end with golf season approaching but nonetheless I appreciate every extra wink I can get.

Yesterday Jonathan was officially 6 months old! That was the fastest 6 months ever. He’s nearing 20 pounds & almost 29 inches. This puts him basically in the 99th percentile. He had a few weeks above the scale at 105th percentile… So yes he’s a big kid. Very different body type than Cameron. Cameron is our tall skinny guy & Jonathan is our little linebacker. Will be interesting to see how they develop.

Jonathan is sitting on his own, eating baby food & starting to crawl! He’s figured out how to go backwards but does a leap/belly flop to go forward. He’s a happy & funny little guy!

Chris & I:

Don’t think this has been mentioned in previous posts but Chris finished his MBA last August so we have loved having him home every night since. Obviously we are so proud of him – this is a huge accomplishment! Way to go babe!!!

We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary last month – cheers to many more years!!

University of Michigan:

Obviously awesome stuff going on here – the basketball team is ROCKIN!! I’ll let Chris post about this but man this team definitely rose to the occasion.

Well everyone – I hope you are having a happy & healthy 2013 so far!! Have a wonderful April!

We’ll be updating the blog more often so check back.

Lots of love,

Julie
